United in Eternity [Levi X Reader] Chapter 4

** Reader POV **

- time skip -
Everyone was there by my side, reporting how they defeated the Female titan and how it turned out to be Annie. They told me all about Armin's brilliant plan and Eren told me how bravely he fought and how he wished I could have seen him. They were so excited, like children who happily reported of their great succsess.
I was away for a bit more than 3 days and it was just when I woke up, that I saw the whole 104th squad filling my room. After they noticed I was awake, they threw themselves all over me.
''_________! You should have seen us!!'' Eren still kept shouting excitedly. I smiled to him, I was always impressed how he did his best fighting, putting all his heart to it. I admired him.
''Stop shouting at her!'' Jean hissed back to Eren
''That's okey. I enjoy hearing it, actually.'' I said laughing at them.
''See Jean.'' Eren said mockingly. ''Oh,________… Mikasa told me you saved me and got hurt becouse of that…'' Eren said, with a voice calmer than anytime before.
''No…it's not your fault at all! I should have been more careful. I was reckle-'' Before I could continue, my eyes opened widely. Suddenly the room blackened out and I could feel a hand reach for my head, running through my hair. ''You're too reckless…''
Levi? LEVI!? Where's Levi? Is he alright? It's been 3 days from which I have no memory of at all. I have no idea what happened out there. The room cleared back to normal. My friends still by my side. I ran across their faces for a while. They were filled with joy and pride. Levi wasn't among them. But then I spotted Mikasa staring at me, with a rather blank expression. She stood up, coming closer to me, placing herself at the edge of my bed by my shoulder, leaning in, so no one would hear her.
''He came here everyday.'' She whispered, almost not audible. My eyes widened. Was she talking about Levi?
''W-who?'' I stuttred, trying to avoid any rapid reactions, if she were to speak out his name.
''The Corporal.'' She said calmly. It sent shivers down my spine and numbed my body. My stare dazzed blankly into nothing. I couldn't say anything. I was nearly limbed.
''Is he alright?'' I then barked out, like a foolish child. Mikasa only nodded. Everyone was talking loudly, the room was filled with pleasant aura.
Suddenly we got interrupted with silent knocks on the door. Everyone immediately lowered their voices as if they were sensing something. The room was now filled with death like silence, they all stared at the door. It slowly and quietly opened. Step by step, I could see a figure entering. Now the room seemed even quieter, even a few gasps were left out. Mikasa stood up, walking away from me, so now I could clearly see...
''C-Corporal!'' Eren barked out, striking into the greeting pose, followed by everyone else. I couldn't really believe my eyes. It all raced through my head, as if I were absent, only watching a movie.
''W-What are all of you brats doing here!?'' Levi shouted at them.
''We…came to see ______.'' Eren replied, sounding confused. Levi's eyes then locked onto mine, meeting for the first time after the accident.
''Y-You're awake…'' He mumbled.
The tension got broke off by Reiner's laugh. He tried to hold it back, but failed pathetically. Everyone followed right behind. I could see Levi getting annoyed. Only then I figured what they're laughing about. Levi was holding tightly onto a flower bouquet.
I hung my head, trying to hide my laugh aswell - suppressing my urge to scream out how cute it all seemed.
Mikasa then reached for Eren's sleeve, ''We should go.'' she whispered to him, followed by Eren's loud wondering.
''Why should we go? I still need to tell ________ how…-''
With every passing second, Levi got more and more annoyed. The others were bursting in laugh. And to be honest, it amused me greatly.
''LEAVE! NOW!'' Levi then shouted at them, causing the room to freeze.
I've never seen the 104th squad run away as fast as they did the exact same second Levi shouted at them. We were alone. Levi's hand ran through his hair, trying to wipe away the awkward feeling.
''Sorry about that…'' he mumbled. I just laughed in reply. Levi came closer, placing the flowers into the vase on the little wooden table, next to my bed. His moves were slow and gentle. He than sat himself on the edge of my bed, close to me, reaching for my hands. His hand resting above mine, crossed on my lap. He held me tight, as if he was making sure I'm real, as if he were to let me go, he'd loose me.
''How are you feeling?'' he asked with barely audible voice. From time to time his hands trambled. He didn't look at me.
''I'm.. '' I knew if I were to lie and tell him all is good, he'd know right away. ''I'm better.''
He seemed astaunished. He was sure I was going to try to cheer him up, saying I'm perfectly fine. His hand gripped tighter.
''It's my fault you got hurt.'' He said in a quiet, broken tone. What so ever I’d say, would only get him more worried, blaming himself for all that happend.
I freed one of my hands, letting the other rest beneath Levi's. I reached for the flowers he brought, patting them, admiring them.
''They're beautiful. Thank you.'' I said, striking a bitter smile, not looking away from them. Levi was getting slightly irritated, the guilt was destroying his mind bit by bit. His teeth clenched tight together and his free hand formed into a fist. His head was hanging low, eyes tightly closed beneath the raven hair that hid his face away from me. He was about to fall into pieces.
''Levi… '' I said, picking up his hand, holding it tightly in my own. ''Thank you for saving me.''
Levi's eyes widened, a light breath slipped his, now slightly opened mouth. His eyes were focused on mine. They were light up brightly, the light in them spreading over his whole face. Moments passed, our eyes were still locked together. My heart was beating so hard, I could have felt it inside my throuth already. Finally Levi closed his eyes. He leaned forwards, wrapping one of his hands around my neck and placed the other into my hand, pulling his body closer to mine. He embraced me deeply, pushing my head onto his chest, resting his head on mine. I felt his chest raising and falling in the rythem of his breathing. First I felt a faint heartbeat, which then speed up, pumping harder and harder. I was short on breath, dazzing away with every beat. It was warm and soft. Bit by bit I fall deeper into him, into his mesmerizing scent. His hand ran through the back of my hair, patting it sweetly. Suddenly I felt it, a cold, icy drop fall on the back of my neck. Followed by another. And another. I could hardly gather myself. I wasn't even sure if it was a dream or not. I swung the both of my hands around his back, grabbing tightly onto his shirt, pulling him as close as possible, filling in all the remeining space between us. He left out a gasp. I gripped him so tightly, trying prevent him from slipping away. I didn't ever wanted him to leave again. Passing through the long and thick walls I built through all the years, he just slipped through, reaching for the core inside. His hand touched my heart, holding it inside of his hands, coliding it with his. With his every touch, I was mending more and more.
A waterfall of tears streamed from my eyes, caressing my cheeks, as I drifted deeper and deeper into the person that ment the world to me. From the first day I saw him, I loved him. I always wanted to reach for him, but everytime I streched my hand, he turned away from me. I knew what he felt. And now all of his grief and pain was wrapped into me, melting onto mine. I could feel all of our sorrow leap away as if it never existed. As long as I'm with Levi, all will be alright. When I'm with him, I know I can fight and for certain, win. I couldn't bare, knowing I'm holding something so precious and important inside my grip, never to let go. I'll protect you, with my whole being. I'll mend you and pick your pieces to make you whole again. I couldn't bare loosing you, it would be my end just as well. I'll stand with you, for every eternity that may come.
It felt as if Levi heard all of my words, letting go of me, placing his palms on my cheeks, wipping away my tears. He smiled weakly. His eyes cought tightly with mine, his breath was crashing on my face.
He leaned in…
…Our lips entwined.
I gasped at first but then releasing myself fully into the kiss. It felt tender and soft, I could feel his innocent mouth coliding deeper into mine. Levi wrapped himself fully around me, pressuring his body onto mine. Blood rushed into my head rapidly, I blushed as hard as never before, melting into Levi’s embrace. I opened my mouth slightly, allowing Levi's tounge to enter, wrapping itself tightly onto mine, sucking it gently,  causing me to blush even harder. I grabbed his hair with one of my hands, tangling my fingers in his raven-black locks. The other hand slowly traveled down his back, causing Levi to shiver a little, pulling me into him even tighter.
Suddenly the door swung open violently, followed by a friendly shriek of greet. Levi threw himself off me, sitting back where he did before. His hand reached for mine and held it closley behind his back. My face was flushed with blush and I could clearly focuse on the excited person infront of us.
''____________!!!!'' It was Hanji, se was dancigly walking all over the room. ''Eren told us you woke uuuup!'' She said excitedly.
''Tch…'' Levi sighed. Hanji stopped and threw an astaunished glance at us.
''Corporal Tiny? What are you doing here?'' She asked, wondering, striking her stare to me. I tried to hide my red face, giving into a smile and waving at here. Hanji's lips spread into a grin. She stared at us for a while, soon after she bursted out in laugh.
''What's so funny Shit face!?'' Levi barked back at her.
The door opened for a second time, revealing Erwin. He greeted kindly. ''Please excuse the interuption, Hanji was just way too excited when she heard ________ has woke up.'' He said, smiling warmly. He ran a quick scan over the both of us. The corner of his mouth formed into a grin aswell.
Hanji pushed her face close to mine, grinning directly at me. I tried to back off but she was persistant.
''H-Hanji? What are you doing?'' her face appeared almost frightening.
''What were you hiding from me, ______?'' she said, making her voice sound really deep, mocking me.
''I…uh…'' I stuttered, embarrassed. I gripped Levi's hand and pulled it a little, giving him a sign to help me. Before Levi could react, Erwin grabbed Hanji's shoulder pulling her back.
''There, there Hanji. _______ just woke up, I'm sure she's still a little tired. There will be plenty time to talk when she fully recovers.'' Erwin said, kindly. I sighed in relief, so did Levi.
''But I'm rather surprised seeing you here, Corporal.'' He added, grining at him. Levi stroke him an annoying stare as a reply. Hanji bursted out laughing again.
''And you're here becouse…?'' Levi asked impatiently.
''Oh, right!'' Erwin remembered, ''We're here to thank behalf of the king and the whole town for your excelet work. And also to welcom you to Levi's squad. Once you've healed, we already have a new mission waiting for you.'' Erwin said, breaking his smile, to look at me with a serious expression. I didn't like it, not one bit. Something was faul. Levi’s attitude change, he now over protectively jumped between me and Erwin.
''And what kind of 'mission' would that be?'' He asked, hissing at Erwin.
''Well, I was looking for you to discuss this matter. After you're done here, please come to my office.'' He replied, calm.
Levi growled loudly.
''Come Hanji, we still have things to do! And Levi… I'll be waiting in my office.'' Erwin added, turning on his heels, walking towards the door.
''Byeeee ________! Take careee!'' Hanji swung herself, following Erwin. Before leaving  she threw her hand on Levi's head, patting him, messing his hair up. ''Byeee Shortieeee.'' She ran off, before Levi could do anything to her.
Levi growled again, and reached for his hair, taming his, now, messy hair. He sighed loudly and turned back to me.
''Rest for now, I'll be back after I'm done with those two.'' He said a little annoyed, reaching for my cheek. He leaned in to kiss my forehead sweetly. Walking to the door, he turned around one last time, smiling to me. The door shut behind him. Now I was entwined with silence, while my mind was burning with recent images.
''Levi….'' I whispered, covering my, again, flushed face, smiling brightly to myself.
